When driving on the Belgian roads you will need an on-board unit with satellite-based operation. The Telepass OBU which detects the exact position of the vehicle and records the distance taken, including the Liefkenshoek tunnel in Belgium, close to Antwerp.
The settlement will be calcuated based on the
distance measured by your OBU
the EURO emission standard of your vehicle
the weight of your vehicle.
VAT on toll
Belgian toll fee does not include VAT, only Wallonia has VAT.
Tax relevant document
If you choose MOL Europe toll to pay the Belgian toll, you will receive your company's tax relevant document from Satellic NV. MOL will issue a statement of account to you.
Invoicing period
The toll fee paid via MOL Europe Toll will be invoiced bi-weekly, or as per your invoicing conditions.
In case of emergency, you can use your MOL Europe Toll Service Card, you can continue your journey cashless.
If the customer is in Belgium and the OBU has a fixed red LED (that means that he cannot pay the toll) then he must call the Telepass Call Center to the toll-free number 080081449 (active toll-free number from Belgium).
If the customer is about to enter Belgium and has problems with the device he can call the Telepass Call Center to the toll number 0039.055.9368001.
Both numbers are active 24/7 for English, German and Italian.
From Monday to Sunday from 6 am to 10 for: French, Spanish, Polish
If the operator cannot solve the problem, he will inform the customer and block the device for ONLY THE VIAPASS toll domain (“technical problem”). He will then direct the customer to the nearest Point of Sales in order to make the OBU replacement.
From the OBU block, the customer has 3 hours to request the replacement Satellic device (call the above number) and not pay the fine; in the meantime, the customer will have to ask MOL Group his Sales partner to replace the malfunctioning Telepass device.
When the customer obtains the Satellic device at the Service Point, he is not allowed to travel with 2 OBUs on the same vehicle therefore the malfunctioning Telepass OBU must be kept unloaded, shielded or stored in the Telepass screen box.(this is the BOX in which the OBU was received, it protect from un planned usage, like double payment)
If the replaced device is not returned within 60 days, Telepass will charge the penalty.
